Description
The ASCOM BHT 470 is a 470-tonne mobile boat hoist of substantial engineering pedigree, manufactured by ASCOM S.p.A. Delivered unused with zero machine hours, this unit represents a complete lift, block, work, and relaunch capability without requiring commitment of a graving dock or slipway. Eight independent synchronised winches, each fitted with digital encoders, provide eight lifting points — six hydraulically adjustable and two fixed — enabling slings to position freely around shafts, propellers, stabilisers, and keel appendages with precision. For a working repair yard, the constraint is rarely capability — it is throughput. Every vessel occupying a dock slot for routine hull work is a slot unavailable for the job that actually pays. The BHT 470 changes that arithmetic: survey work, hull cleaning, propeller and shaft service, plating and coating operations can all proceed on the hard stand while the dock remains free for the heavy fabrication or repair tasks that genuinely require it. The machine handles not only vessels but also barges, reels, and fabricated modules — the terminations change, the machine does not. Mobility is ensured by sixteen all-steering wheels offering six electronic steering modes, providing the articulation and control necessary for positioning within a busy yard environment. The unit arrives as a U-frame configuration with extended rear cross beam and eight sling blocks mounted on the upper beams, ready for deployment upon delivery.
